Employee Spotlight: April Thompson

It’s time for another Employee of the Quarter to introduce you to! Today, meet April Thompson, who is one of our Client Advocate Managers. April offers help and advice to our dealers and wants to see them succeed. Learn a little more about her below!

150624_CWS_Headshots_Web_47I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee and I have lived in Virginia for over 20 years. I have a wonderful husband whom I just married in May of 2015, two teenage boys and three rescue animals. Anyone that knows me well knows I am a huge college football fan. Prior to working at Commercial Web Services, I was an Internet Sales Manager for a local car dealership. Having a dealership background has really helped with relating to my dealers needs.

How long have I been with CWS and what is my current role?

I was hired in June of 2015 as the first ever Client Advocate Manager for Commercial Web Services, or “CAM” as we call it. My job is to support, educate and advise my dealers on the health and vitality of their websites to ensure them that their investment with us is performing to their expectations and ultimately creating new opportunities through website traffic. The goal of this position is to be constantly engaged with our dealers, creating long lasting partnerships.

What is one piece of advice I want my dealers to know?

I understand their time is valuable. When I schedule a call with a dealer, I make sure I am fully prepared to share information and data that I have gathered. Prior to our call, I have already created an agenda for our discussion to make sure I am relaying everything I need to. A tip I like to give my dealers is for them to also have an agenda of what they would like to discuss. It is not a one sided conversation, their input and feedback helps us grow as a business.

What is your greatest accomplishment at CWS?

It is definitely an honor to be hired as the first ever Client Advocate Manager. Coming in to a position that was brand new was exciting and a little scary at the same time. After months of training within the different departments of CWS, I was very proud to have completed my first full account review. All of the hard work I put in, as well as the time my coworkers invested in me, finally came full circle.

What is your favorite part about working at CWS?

We have such an amazing, fun work environment! Most importantly, we’re a family. Each and every person has something dynamic and unique to bring to the table. I think what I like most is that a job well done does not go unnoticed. We celebrate each other’s hard work and accomplishments regularly.
