Exploring Facebook Business Tools

A few months ago we let you know why you should be using Facebook for your dealership. If you started a page then, or have had one for a while and just started re-engaging with your fans, we want to take a look at some of the business tools Facebook has for your business page. Please keep in mind the date of this post since Facebook is constantly updating their platform, so some tools may change in the future.

Facebook Insights

Facebook Insights allows you to look into how your page is performing. You can measure and track how many people like your page, the number of people who saw your posts, fan demographics, how engaging individual posts were, and so much more. Next week we will take a deeper look into a few of the insights we use the most when measuring our Commercial Web Services page, but for now, we want to show you where to find these insights so you can start seeing how they change over the next week. Below you will see a screenshot of our main page when we log into the CWS Facebook page. The top navigation has a section highlighted grey, labeled “Insights.” Click this to explore the different performance tracking tools Facebook has to offer.

Pages Manager App

This free app for Android and iOS users allows page administrators to post content seamlessly while on the go. You can post happy customer photos as soon as they leave your dealership with their new equipment, or post images from your Holiday Open House event while the event is taking place. This means there is no more worrying about downloading and uploading from a computer, which can be pushed aside as your dealership gets busy. Another great thing about this app is that you can also view your insights right from the app. This allows you to monitor how your posts are doing and if anyone is commenting on them, even if you aren’t at your computer logged in. You can set it up to receive push notifications so that you don’t miss an interaction, allowing you to read and respond to comments much easier than on the normal Facebook app.

Scheduling and Targeting Posts

Have you noticed the icons  at the bottom when you are writing a new post? You can schedule a post for a future day and time, target your post based on gender, age, location and more, and add a location to your post. The scheduling tool is great for your business page as it allows you to set up posts for the days that you are closed or after business hours. This is crucial to your social media success because fans don’t stop checking Facebook just because you are closed. Targeting your posts is another tool that you can use to reach more specific audiences. You can target based on many different demographics, and your post will only be sent to those fans that fit that criteria. Adding location to your posts increases your dealership’s visibility because as you tag locations, those locations will see who have tagged them. This is great because you can grow your local connections through this, making you more relevant to the community you’re involved in. You can add local restaurants, businesses, cities, and more.

Facebook Posts
Taking advantage of the free tools provided is one of the main reasons your dealership should set up a Facebook business page and not a personal profile page, as they are only available to business pages.  These tools will help you stay engaged, grow your reach, and make posting easier.
