Spring has sprung! This means it’s that time of year again to clean out your closets and wash the cars! However, in the midst of all of the spring cleaning, have you thought about cleaning up your website as well? Often websites have a tendency to accumulate clutter over time from adding pages, content, links and images if they are not regularly managed. This is why it’s a great time to run down your website page by page, remove those outdated specials and announcements, and refresh your content to reflect what’s happening at your business this season.
Still haven’t taken down those Holiday .gifs and images? (Now is definitely the best time to handle that). How about your copyright dates? Are they updated? Do your links work? What about your content? Is the current content displayed on your website still relevant to your customer?
It might be helpful to evaluate each of your website pages to see if there’s anything you can consolidate into other pages. For example, did you change your dealership’s business name awhile ago? If you are no longer considered the “old” dealership name, create a page for your press releases/news and add it there, as it is a business milestone, without using the valuable space on the home page. Are you finding that your competitor’s sites are looking a bit fresher than your own? Perhaps it’s time for a redesign– just contact your web host!
